Things floating around in your protea are natural and expected.

You may have noticed some sedimentation or transparent flecks in your protein shake. This is a natural reaction between our whey protein particles and tea, and is perfectly fine to drink.

Why does this happen?

We've noticed that when whey protein undergoes heat treatment, it tends to clump together and form bigger particles that look a bit like film. In addition, proteins react with the tea to form bigger particles which may be visible to the naked eye: this is a well-documented effect found in a lot of scientific research on its effects.

Can we fix this?

Yes, or at least we think so. Our R&D team is working on a fix that should be out by the start of next year.

That being said, we've been investigating this issue since our first production, and are confident that it is purely an aesthetic issue. When we first saw these particles, we weren't comfortable releasing drinks containing these to the public until we had verified the causes behind them.

Over the last few months, we've been testing/drinking these samples, and are now happy to share these products with you - remember that if you ever have an issue with any of our drinks, please reach out and we'll be glad to assist with anything!
